Mumbai Police on Saturday urged the citizens in the city to enroll their domestic help details with them to ensure the safety and security of their employers.

Mumbai Police said, "For ensuring better safety and security of the Mumbaikars it is requested to inform Mumbai Police while employing the servant or housemaid at your home."

The police have launched an online system for the employers of domestic help to share their details with the Mumbai Police as part of better security measures in the city and the safety of the citizens.

How to fill in the details online:

For filling up the information online one may visit the official Mumbai Police website -- www.mumbaipolice.gov.in.

After visiting the website one may go to "Report Us > Domestic Servant".

In the “Domestic Servant” intimation form, one should fill in the information of the servant, housemaid or domestic help they have employed i.e., name of the servant, date of birth, servant contact number, gender, education, native and present address, language spoken, photograph, acquaintance contact number and photo id etc.

Also, fill in details regarding the employer.

"Mumbai Police urges Mumbaikars to make the most of this service for making the city safer," the police said.

Advisory for property owners and tenants:

Earlier, Mumbai Police had issued an advisory for property owners in the city and shared the details of guidelines for renting out properties.

The police had said, that due to the situation prevailing in the areas under the control of the Commissioner of Police, Mumbai, it is apprehended that subversive/anti-social elements may seek hideouts in the residential areas and there is every likelihood of breach of peace and disturbance of public tranquillity with grave danger to human life and injury to private/ public property.

The police said that on that account some check must be put on landlords/tenants so that terrorist/anti-social elements in the guise of tenants may not cause subversive activities, riots, affray etc: and that immediate action is necessary for the prevention of the same.

The police had earlier said that it is being hereby ordered that each landlord/owner/person dealing in property business of any house/property which falls under the jurisdiction of Mumbai Police Commissioner who has let/sub-let/rent out any accommodation to any person, shall immediately furnish the particulars of the said tenant/tenants online on the citizen portal on www.mumbaipolice.gov.in.

The police had further said that if the person to whom the accommodation is let/sub-let/rented out is a Foreigner, then the owner and the Foreigner shall furnish his Name, Nationality, Passport details i.e, Passport No., Place and date of issue, validity, Visa details i.e. Visa No., category, place and date of issue, validity, registration place and reason for stay in the city.
