Mumbai: Out for a swim, two boys drown in sea

As per preliminary reports, the Mumbai Fire Brigade received information around 5:30 pm on Monday that eight persons entered the sea, and only six returned

Two boys, who went swimming into the sea near Priyadarshini Park, drowned on Monday evening. As per preliminary reports, the Mumbai Fire Brigade received information around 5:30 pm on Monday that eight persons entered the sea, and only six returned.


“The incident happened near Priyadarshini Seaside Shore on Nepeansea Road at Malabar Hills,” said an official from the Mumbai Disaster Control department.



Police and Coast Guard personnel were mobilized for search operation and the two missing boys were found by fire brigade personnel on Tuesday. They were sent to J J Hospital. The chief medical officer of J J Hospital said that both were brought dead.


The victims have been identified as 15-year-old Rehman Rizwan Shaikh and 12-year-old Mohammad Dilshad Shaikh.
