The Crime Intelligence Unit (CIU) of Mumbai Crime Branch on Sunday arrested two people from Juhu who were involved in murder of a former Bihar councillor’s husband in August. According to the CIU, the accused were identified as Sanatkumar Jaykumar Singh, alias Shubham Singh, 22, and Sonukumar Vinay Bharti, alias Shubham Giri, 20.

The CIU has received information that these two accused were staying in Mumbai by hiding their real identity. “We investigated and a trap was laid in Juhu,” said Milind Kathe, senior police inspector, CIU.

The officials took them in custody and found that after gunning down Sujit Mehta, the husband of a former councillor in Aurangabad district of Bihar in August this year, the accused came to Mumbai and were hiding in Juhu. The Crime Branch officials have informed Bihar police about their arrest and the accused will be handed over to them for further investigation.
