A 27-year-old mother and her eight-year-old child were found dead at their Bhayandar residence under mysterious circumstances on Friday night. The police also found a bottle of poison from the house and suspect that they have been poisoned to death. No suicide note was recovered from the site.

The mother is Kavita Ram Chauhan, and her son Rohit Ram Chauhan, were residents of Mordha Village at Bhayandar West. The police said Kavita’s husband Ram had gone to village to buy a bike and when he returned home, he found his wife and son dead. The Bhayandar police registered the ADR and have started investigations.

When the husband returned home on  the night of July 14, he knocked on the door but nobody answered. He broke the door down and took both of them to the nearby hospital, where doctors declared the child dead on arrival.

The doctors told Ram that it looked like they have been poisoned. They also found Shyam, Ram’s brother, in a state of unconsciousness in the bathroom. The police also admitted him to the hospital for treatment. Kavita died on Saturday morning. The police is yet to find the cause of the death.
