Goregaon police have arrested a domestic help who stole a foreign-made lip guard, gold ornaments, and silver idols, hiding them in her undergarments. The incident came to light after the accused stole makeup belonging to her employer, who purchased it in Dubai.

The accused, Sampa Kartik Saha, was staying with her employer in the latter’s house in Goregaon West. The police said that on receiving the complaint, a team visited the house and searched Saha’s belongings, after which they recovered the coins and idols from her bag.
They also found a mobile phone hidden among socks. The complainant, Priyanka Shah, runs a social media agency in Mumbai. An officer at the Goregaon police station said, “The accused was arrested under section 381 (theft) of the Indian Penal Code.”
