On Wednesday afternoon, a train came to a stop near Mumbai Central railway station on the Western line due to derailment, resulting in a disruption of rail services.

The Accident Relief Train promptly reached the location.

While initially WR said it was a technical issue leading to delay of trains, later it issued a statement saying that one coach had derailed and the problem was being rectified. The derailment occurred on a crossover of the Virar-bound slow line on way to the Mumbai Central carshed.

Western Railway officials stated that the incident led to delays in the Western line services.
