He offered to work before me saying I might be scared of the height, and died. I am alive today because of him,” said a disturbed Aftab Ansari, a nephew of Noor Alam, 35, one of the two workers who died when a glass-washing lift collapsed from the 17th floor of a recently built Worli high-rise, Avighna House, on Monday evening. Jameel Ahmed, 24, was the other worker who died. Both the workers were taken to the civic-run Nair hospital but a doctor declared them dead on arrival. An ADR was registered and so far the police have not registered an FIR.
