The police have established the identity of the woman whose body was found on the premises of a high-rise at Laxminagar in Goregaon West on Wednesday. She was identified as Krishika Thapa, 30. The police suspect she committed suicide by jumping from the 12th floor of Gulraj Tower. The police said Krishika was a Nepali national and worked in a spa. She had been staying with her husband, Shijan Thapa, 28, and her friend in a flat in the same building for two months.


The police said Krishika’s friend began looking for her when she woke up on Wednesday evening and did not find her in their house. “Later from the other residents she came to know about the unidentified body of a woman that was found on the building premises. She approached us and identified Krishika,” said an officer from Bangur Nagar police station.

During the interrogation, it was revealed Krishika and her husband quarrelled often, but would behave normally the next day. “As she knew this, the friend went to sleep after Krishika and her husband’s quarrel. She had returned from the night shift at work and in the evening when she woke up and saw neither Krishika nor her husband in the house, she got worried,” the officer added. “Her husband is at large. We are waiting for the post-mortem details to find anything suspicious and will act accordingly,” said Senior Inspector Pramod Tavde of Bangur Nagar police station.
