Actor Sai Tamhankar’s 32-year-old driver was beaten up by four teenagers with belts and bamboo sticks in the Malwani area after he honked twice while the youngsters were riding their bikes in a zigzag manner. The driver, Saddam Mandal, has been working with Tamhankar for the past six years.

The Malwani police have registered an FIR against the four teens and started an investigation in the incident. The driver told mid-day that the teenagers were riding their bikes haphazardly in the Malwani area, posing a high risk of an accident. Therefore, he honked twice to alert them. According to the police, the incident occurred late night on August 13 while Mandal was returning home after dropping off Tamhankar at Chincholi Bandar.

Mandal said, “While I was driving, I saw two bikers with pillions riding their bikes in a zigzag manner, creating a risk of an accident. I honked to get them to ride properly. These youths stopped their bikes and started beating me up. They also called several friends to the scene. They then ran away and left me in critical condition. The locals rushed me to Shatabdi Hospital. I informed the police and lodged an FIR.” A police officer said, “We have registered an FIR against the four unknown individuals. We suspect that all of them are minors.”
