The deceased stayed at NG Complex

A 25-year-old trainee air hostess was found dead in her apartment in Marol. Her body was found on the third floor of the NG Complex in the Andheri suburb of Mumbai, late at night on September 3. The Powai police and Crime Branch are looking into the matter.

“A dead body of a woman was found in Powai; she was a trainee air hostess. Further investigation is on,” said DCP Data Nalawade.

According to police, the deceased hailed from Chhattisgarh’s Raipur and had been staying with a friend and sister in a rented accommodation at NG Complex for the past six months.

On September 3, when her family tried to contact her, she did not answer the calls. In a panicked state, her family asked one of her other friends to visit her home. The friend let herself in after getting the locks picked up by a locksmith. After entering her home, he found her body at around 10.30 pm at night.

The police seized the deceased’s mobile phone and sent her body for post-mortem. "The deceased's throat was slit; we are waiting for the postmortem reports," said a police official.

A society member, on condition of anonymity, said, “The deceased was about to join Air India soon and had recently received her appointment letter.”
