A fire broke out at a cylinder godown in Yari Road, Versova, on Wednesday morning, following a series of cylinder explosion.

According to the BMC Disaster Control, the blaze was reported around 9.45 a.m. in the Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) gas cylinder storage depot located on Yari Road near the Anjuman School.

The metropolitan fire brigade has declared it a level 2 fire.
As per latest reports, 4 persons have been injured and are being treated in Cooper Hospital.
Mumbai Fire Brigade rushed 16 fire-tenders to battle the massive blaze, the cause of which is not known. The conflagration was brought under control in a couple of hours, said an official. Eight fire engines and seven jumbo water tankers have also been sent to the site along with civic ward level staff.
