The BMC will start another 22 vaccination centres across the city on Wednesday. The administration claims they have already distributed all the vaccine stock that they had to various centres. The civic body is again awaiting for fresh stock in the coming days, but if it doesn’t arrive, the city is likely to see a halt in the vaccination drive yet again, revealed sources.

However, despite increasing the number of centres, the beneficiaries vaccinated are few compared to the time the drive was started. There were about 26,015 beneficiaries inoculated at various civic and government centres on Tuesday. There were two cases of adverse effects.

The city has so far inoculated 27,57,489 beneficiaries, out of which 6,77,110 lakh have been administered both the doses. The turnout of senior citizens was 8,363 and of those aged 45 and above was 9,349. The number of health care workers administered the vaccine was hardly 1,313, that of front line workers was 1,847, and those aged between 18 and 44 was 5,143.
