A college peon has been arrested by the Bandra police for allegedly harassing and molesting girl students on the college premises. The 33-year-old accused, in addition to inappropriate actions, also made unwelcome advances and passed lewd comments at a few girls. An FIR was registered and an investigation launched on Wednesday after the girls’ parents approached the college and police.

The girls targeted in the crime are students of a junior college located in Bandra, where the accused has been working as a peon for the past two years. An FIR was registered by the parents of the girls after they were told about the peon’s actions. According to the police, the accused’s responsibilities as a peon included assisting professors with study-related tasks and helping students find books. He also assisted teachers in preparing for exams.

All the survivors are aged between 16 and 17 years. The peon had been molesting the girls for the past four to five days within the college premises. He was also approaching multiple girls inside the classrooms after lectures.

An officer from Bandra police said, “For the past five days, the accused had been targeting four to five girls from the junior college. He asked the girls to enter into a relationship with him. The girls spoke to each other about these incidents. In the past two to three days, the peon began following the girls outside the college premises. The girls informed their parents about these incidents, who informed the college administration.”

The college administration notified the Bandra police about the incidents. After registering an FIR, the police arrested the accused peon from the college premises on Wednesday morning.
