The Mokhada police arrested a 35-year-old man for allegedly killing his sister’s husband with a kulhadi (axe) at Mokhada in Palghar on Wednesday. The police said the deceased was an alcoholic and was harassing the accused’s sister in an inebriated state. The deceased was identified as Mahindra Bhoye, 35, who was residing with his wife Rupali, their eight-year-old daughter Priyanka and mother Kaushalya at Mokhada village in Palghar. The arrested accused is Dilip Devrao Mahale, who is Rupali’s brother.

According to the police, the incident occurred on Wednesday evening when Bhoye was drunk and had a fight with his wife, Rupali. The police said, “Rupali decided to leave home and informed her family about her husband’s alcoholic habits. Mahale, in anger, decided to take revenge and attacked Bhoye with a kulhadi thrice on his head, killed him and fled.”Bhoye died on the spot, and locals informed the police about the incident. The accused was arrested and he revealed that he killed his brother-in-law to take revenge.
