All harbour line trains to Western Railway will run all the way till Goregaon instead of Andheri from as early as December 2021. Sources said railways are working on a new suburban timetable to be implemented which will take around a month. Senior divisional officials said that at present, 21 pairs (42) of services run between CSMT-Goregaon and nine pairs (18) between Panvel-Goregaon.

While harbour line services were extended to Goregaon in 2018, most trains connected only till Andheri. The 5.2-km extended line from Andheri to Goregaon on harbour line was built at a cost of Rs 214 crore. Regular services on this line started from April 1, 2018.  The move is expected to help over 7,000 passengers from Jogeshwari, Ram Mandir and Goregaon stations as well as an additional 6,000 passengers from other stations like Kandivli and Malad.
