A 40-year-old transgender allegedly died by suicide on Friday after her alleged boyfriend dumped her. On Sunday, the Dindishi police booked the eunuch's boyfriend for abetment to suicide.

The Dindoshi police said that Payal hanged herself to the ceiling fan at her house in Santosh Nagar area, Malad east. However, the police was informed about the suicide on Saturday and the body was sent for postmortem.

According to police, the deceased, identified as Payal Ansari alias Payal Dubey, had met 30-year-old Nisaad Ahmed about 10 years ago.

Ahmed, a resident of Nalasopara and a plumber by profession, met Payal at Goregaon railway station for the first time and the two became friends.

Payal’s friends told the police that the victim was tensed due to Ahmed's constant demand for money. According to Payal’s friends, Ahmed allegedly forced Payal to spend money on him and raped her for the past two years on the pretext of marriage.

“Based on the statements of Payal’s friends, we have booked Ahmed on the charge of abetment to suicide under Section 306 of the Indian Penal code. Four police teams have been formed to trace Ahmed, however, we suspect that he might have fled to Gujarat,” said a police officer.
