A 29-year-old doctor and medicine student, on Thursday, ended her life by injecting an unknown substance, police said.

As per reports, Nitasha Bengali was living with her parents in Worli and was suffering from depression for a few months. On Thursday, she injected an unknown substance in her room which deteriorated her health. Later, she came out and informed her mother about it.
Nitasha was taken to Nair Hospital where doctors declared her dead before admission.

The police received a call from Nair Hospital around 7.30 pm on Thursday and informed about her suicide. According to the cops, Nitasha's mother is a doctor and her father an engineer.
A Worli police official said, "Nitasha was a MBBS doctor and she was also pursuing her MD. And so far no suicide note has been recovered."
"Nitasha remained worried and stressed about her studies; she was also being treated for the same,” the official added.
A senior Inspector of Worli Police Station confirmed Nitasha's suicide to Mid-day and told that the real cause of death will be known only after Nitasha's post-mortem. Anil Koli told Mid-day, "We are now investigating this matter. The police have registered an ADR."
