A 13-year-old boy drowned in a pond at Mumbai University's Vidya Nagari complex in Kalina, Santacruz on Sunday.

According to the BMC disaster report, Akbal Mansuri, 13, drowned in a pond at Mumbai University around 2.46 pm.



The firefighters rescued the boy and rushed him to civic-run V N Desai Hospital.


"The doctor declared him brought dead," stated a civic report.

Meanwhile, in another incident, a 45-year-old unknown person was injured due to electrocution while cleaning a drain at Air India Colony in Santacruz area.

The incident occured around 3.55 pm on Sunday afternoon.

The local police took the person to a nearby private hospital - Durga Nursing Home, for treatment.

"The doctor declared him and brought dead," informed the civic report.
