To avoid possible outbreaks of measles in  February or March, the State Measles Task Force Committee has alerted all corporations that vaccination coverage must be over 90 per cent.

The task force committee chief Dr Subhash Salunkhe said, “We don’t want to witness another measles outbreak in the city and state. Clear direction was given to all the health officials to put more effort into immunisation. There is resistance to vaccination in some areas, but we have to convert it to acceptance.” Since October 2022, Mumbai has reported 528 confirmed cases of measles.
