Maharashtra: SSC results at 1 pm today

School Education Minister Varsha Gaikwad made the announcement via a video message

The much-awaited Secondary School Certificate (SSC) result will be declared on Friday at 1 pm on the state board’s official website. Maharashtra State School Education Minister Varsha Gaikwad made the announcement on Thursday afternoon through a video message.

This will be the first-ever SSC result to be given without examinations, which the board could not conduct this year amid the unprecedented situation brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic. The result this year is going to be a compilation of academic records of students from Std IX and Std X. “We all have been very curious about the SSC result and lakhs of students have been waiting for it along with their parents. It will be declared on the state board’s website on Friday post noon. I wish good luck to all students,” said Gaikwad. There are a total of 16,58,624 candidates registered for SSC out of which 7,48,693 are girls and 9,09,931 are boys.

Gaikwad also said, “The examination, which was originally scheduled from April 29 to May 20, had to be cancelled due to the increasing number of COVID patients. Following this, a decision was declared through a Government Resolution (GR) dated May 12 that the exam will be cancelled and the result will be declared through an alternative method. Another GR was issued on May 28, regarding the alternative method of evaluation. Teachers were trained for such a new way of evaluation through webinars and other processes and they were given time to submit all students’ marks between June 23 and July 2.”

As the government had announced that the results would be declared around July 15, talks about a probable delay had already begun. The announcement brings clarity for lakhs of students across Maharashtra.
