A total of 15,60,154 students from nine divisional boards across the state, including Pune, Nagpur, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Mumbai, Kolhapur, Amravati, Nashik, Latur, and Konkan, had registered. Out of these, 15,49,326 students appeared for the examination, and 14,84,441 students passed. The overall pass percentage for the state this year is 95.81 per cent.
Across Maharashtra, a total of 81,991 students scored above 90 per cent, whereas 96,811 students scored below 45 per cent. A total of 5,58,021 students secured a distinction (75 per cent and above), and 5,31,822 students scored first class (60 per cent and above). Similarly, in Mumbai, 97,354 students scored 75 per cent and above, whereas 1,18,006 students scored 60 per cent and above.
"Even this year, the Konkan division topped the list, while the Nagpur division dropped to the bottom among the nine divisional boards. With each passing year, the performance has been improving. Due to the pandemic and online schooling, lenient conditions were implemented during the pandemic years, including a reduction of the syllabus. Last year, the syllabus was back to 100 per cent. The results fluctuated from batch to batch, and the difficulty of the question papers had an impact on the pass percentage. However, this year no time was lost for students, and the syllabus was completed swiftly," said Sharad Gosavi, chairman of MSBSHSE.
Cent per cent
A total of 187 students secured 100 per cent marks across the state, of which 123 are from Latur. Last year, 151 students scored 100 per cent in Maharashtra, with 109 students from Latur and six from the Mumbai division. The results have been announced based on the best of five subjects. This year, out of the 23,288 secondary schools, 15,60,154 students appeared for the SSC exams, and 9,382 schools across the state registered 100 per cent results. Anuradha Oak, secretary of MSBSHSE, said, "Those students who secured 100 per cent had received the benefit of concessional marks towards arts and sports."
