Chief minister Eknath Shinde guarded his bastion of Thane and Kalyan with a huge victory. The Kalyan seat was contested by his son, Shrikant Shinde who was sitting MP from the area. The Thane constituency was won by Naresh Mhaske who registered victory with a huge vote margin over two-time MP Rajan Vichare. BJP retained the Palghar seat, while NCP, in a three-way battle, took Govandi.

Since the formation of the constituency in 2009, Shiv Sena has won it. In 2019, Shinde defeated NCP candidate, Babaji Patil, with 3.44 lakh votes. In 2014, Shinde defeated former MP Anand Paranjpe, from the NCP.

Thane

It was a direct contest between Shinde and Thackeray’s Sena, where two-time sitting MP Rajan Vichare was contesting against Shinde Sena’s Naresh Mhaske. Initially BJP opposed the candidacy of Mhaske but he gained a good margin over Vichare.  All six Vidhan Sabha constituencies have MLAs from BJP and Sena, including CM Shinde.

Once Thane was considered as a stronghold of Matoshree. But after the split in the party CM Shinde held the reigns of the constituency. Naresh Mhaske is known as the blue-eyed boy of Eknath Shinde.

Rajan Vichare won the seat in 2014 and 2019. Vichare gained 7.40 lakh votes in the 2019 election, where he defeated NCP's Anand Paranjpe by 4.12 lakh votes. In 2014, Vichare defeated Sanjeev Naik, a former MP of the NCP. Vichare got 5.95 lakh votes and Naik got 3.14 lakh votes.

Palghar

Palghar was part of the Mumbai North Constituency before 2009. The district was formed in 2014 after being separated from Thane district. It includes Vasai Virar Municipal Corporation. Bahujan Vikas Aghadi holds command over the constituency. In 2009, Bahujan Vikas Aghadi's candidate, BaliramJadhav,v was elected as the first MP of the constituency. In 2014, Chintaman Vanaga of BJP defeated Baliram Jadhav.

Shiv Sena UBT candidate, Bharati Kamadi, lost her first Palghar Municipal Council election in 1999, later she was elected twice as the member of Zilla Parishad of Palghar. Dr Hemant Savara is the son of the former minister Vishnu Savara. He first contested Vidhan Sabha election from Vikramgad constituency. Sunil Bhusara defeated him in the 2019 Vidhan Sabha election.

Bhiwandi

NCP (SP) registered its first and only win in MMR in Bhiwandi in a three-way contest. Balya Mama allies Suresh Mhatre won with 4.85 lakh votes after defeating Kapil Patil of BJP, who got 4.15 lakh votes with a margin of just 70,000 votes. Nilesh Sambre who contested as an independent contestant gathered 2.23 lakh votes.

Kapil Patil of the BJP is a two-time MP of the constituency. Suresh Mhatre repeatedly changed political parties. He started his political career with Shiv Sena. He was elected to the Lok Sabha in the 2009 election on a Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS), ticket. Later he joined NCP. After the Shiv Sena split, Mhatre joined the Shinde-led Shiv Sena. But then again,  joined NCP(SP).
