Five persons were injured after a fire broke out and led to a blast at a pharmaceutical company in Maharashtra's Raigad district on Friday, police said, reported news agency PTI.

The blaze erupted around 10.30 am at the company in the Mahad MIDC area, after which drums containing chemicals on the premises exploded, an official said, reported PTI.
Workers were inside the factory at the time of the incident. Five of them sustained serious burns and were rushed to a hospital, he said, reported PTI.
Police and fire brigade vehicles reached the scene and started the firefighting and rescue operations, which are still underway, the official said, reported PTI.
The cause of the blaze is yet to be ascertained, he said, adding that further details are awaited, reported PTI.
In another incident, two people, including a woman, suffered minor burn injuries in a fire that erupted in an 11-storey residential building in suburban Ghatkopar (East) on Thursday afternoon, civic officials said, reported PTI.
A civic official said the blaze broke out in a flat on the fourth floor of the building, 'Sahyadri', in the Pantnagar area of the suburb at around 1.15 pm, reported PTI.
Fire brigade personnel doused the flames in an operation lasting about 30 minutes, he said, reported PTI.
The blaze, whose cause was not immediately known, was confined to electric wiring, electric installation, wooden furniture and clothes in the fourth floor flat, stated the official, reported PTI.
Two people, a 37-year-old man and a woman aged 36, sustained minor injuries and were rushed to the nearby civic-run Rajawadi Hospital for treatment, the official said, reported PTI.
On Wednesday, a fire had erupted in a 14-storey residential tower in Tilak Nagar, located close to Ghatkopar in Mumbai's eastern suburbs, but no one was injured, reported PTI.
The blaze erupted at around 12.30 pm in a flat on the fifth floor of Sahajivan Tower located near Chembur-Santacruz link road flyover, a civic official said, reported PTI.
The fire was confined to electric wiring and installations, household articles and clothes in the flat, civic officials said, reported PTI.
"No one injured in the fire," an official said, reported PTI.
Four fire engines and other fire brigade equipment were rushed to the spot and the blaze was extinguished in less than 30 minutes, officials said, reported PTI. The cause of the fire was not yet known.
