A fire broke out at the 28th floor of an under-construction building in Navi Mumbai city of Maharashtra. No one was injured in the incident, the officials said

A fire broke out in an under-construction commercial building in Navi Mumbai city of Maharashtra and the fire brigade battled the blaze in an overnight operation that ended on Tuesday morning, an official said, reported the PTI.


No casualties were reported in the fire that erupted on the 28th floor of the building in the Shiravane MIDC area around 6.30 pm on Monday, the official said, as per the PTI.


Wooden slabs on the top-most floor caught fire. Five fire engines were dispatched to the scene to contain the blaze, he said.


Firefighting operations continued overnight and ended around 9 am on Tuesday, the official said, adding that a probe will be conducted to ascertain the cause of the fire.

Meanwhile, a fire broke out at a flat in an 11-storey residential building in Maharashtra's Pune city on Tuesday, fire officials said, according to the PTI.

There was so far no report of any casualty, the officials said.

The blaze erupted at around 1 pm in the flat on the top floor of the building located in Mohammadwadi area of Pune, the officials said on Tuesday.

After receiving the information regarding the blaze, as many as five fire tenders and other equipment were rushed to the spot and efforts were on to douse the blaze, the officials said.

The cause of the fire was yet to be ascertained and the officials were investigation the matter, they said.

In an another incident, a fire broke out at a commercial complex, which had a hospital among other establishments, in Maharashtra's Ahmednagar district on Tuesday morning, a fire official said.

No casualties were reported in the blaze that erupted in the office of a finance company on the third floor of Sai Midas Complex around 9.30 am, the official said.

There is a hospital on the second floor of the multi-storey complex, and all patients and staff were evacuated safely, he said.

"Four water tankers were dispatched to the scene, and the fire was brought under control in one hour. There was a hospital on the second floor, and patients and staff were evacuated safely," said Shankar Misal, chief fire officer of the Ahmednagar Municipal Corporation.

The cause for the fire is yet to be ascertained, he said.
