Maharashtra Congress President Nana Patole has been given a team, a jumbo one, to help facilitate the party organisation ahead of the election season.

Mumbai has been given a very significant post of treasurer. Veteran leader Dr Amarjit Singh Manhas, who is the coordination committee president of Mumbai unit will be the sole custodian of the party coffers in Maharashtra. Zakir Ahmed, Mumbai's former vice-president has been promoted as general secretary of Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC).
All India general secretary (organisation) KC Venugopal released the list late Thursday night, in the name of Congress national president Sonia Gandhi.
Announced six months after Patole's appointment, the MPCC will have 190 office bearers. Party spokesperson Sachin Sawant said 48 communities have been representated in the new body. "Average age the office-bearers is 52. The youngest members is 30-year-old and only one member is above 70," he said, adding that it was for the first time two trans persons have been drafted.
