MLC’s NGO to assist
Tarpan Foundation, an NGO associated with a BJP legislator, will assist the government to reach out with benefits to eligible people covered under Sanjay Gandhi Niradhar Yojana.
The cabinet approved a proposal to have a three-party agreement between Tarpan Foundation, the revenue department and social justice department. The foundation will specifically work for orphans, its area of interest. It has collated data of orphans in the state, who will be given income certificates within 15 days.
“Most orphans do not know about the benefits the government extends. The foundation will create awareness and take benefits to orphans without raising any bills to the government,” said a release. The agreement will be for five years, with a provision to extend it further by five years.
