Vinit Agarwal, who currently holds the position of Principal Secretary of the Home Department of Maharashtra, will replace Singh as the new ATS chief. 1993-batch IPS, Sanjay Saxena, will replace Agarwal as the new Principal Secretary.

The post of Thane police chief was vacant for a week as the current commissioner Vivek Phansalkar was promoted to the position of Managing Director, Police Housing and Welfare Corporation.
