Jai Jeet Singh appointed as new Thane police commissioner

Singh, a 1990-batch IPS officer, is currently heading the Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS), Maharashtra. Vinit Agarwal, who currently holds the position of Principal Secretary of the Home Department of Maharashtra, will replace Singh as the new ATS chief.

Additional Director General Jai Jeet Singh was appointed as Thane police commissioner by the Maharashtra government on Monday.


Singh, a 1990 batch IPS officer, is currently heading the Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS), Maharashtra. Vinit Agarwal, who currently holds the position of Principal Secretary of the Home Department of Maharashtra, will replace Singh as the new ATS chief. 1993-batch IPS, Sanjay Saxena, will replace Agarwal as the new Principal Secretary.

The post of Thane police chief was vacant for a week as the current commissioner Vivek Phansalkar was promoted to the position of Managing Director, Police Housing and Welfare Corporation.
