The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red alert for the ghats of Pune, indicating the likelihood of extremely heavy rainfall. Meanwhile, an orange alert has been sounded for Thane, the ghats of Satara, Sindhudurg, Raigad, and Ratnagiri, warning of heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated places in these regions.

According to the IMD forecast, on Wednesday, Pune district is likely to experience light to moderate rainfall.

The weather bureau has issued a red alert for the ghats of Pune, as the area is likely to receive heavy to very heavy rainfall at a few places, with the possibility of extremely heavy rainfall at isolated spots, indicating a more severe weather pattern in the hilly areas.

Kolhapur is also likely to receive heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated places.

The Satara district is expected to receive moderate rainfall. However, its ghats are likely to experience heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated places. This indicates a significant contrast in rainfall intensity between the plains and hilly regions, with the ghat areas facing a higher risk of intense downpours, necessitating caution and preparedness, especially in vulnerable zones.

As per the weather forecast issued on Wednesday, IMD has predicted significant rainfall activity across the Mumbai Metropolitan Region. In Palghar, heavy rainfall is expected at a few places.

Thane district is likely to experience heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated places, with IMD issuing an orange alert.

Similarly, Mumbai is expected to receive heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated locations.

The forecast suggests heightened preparedness across all three districts due to the possibility of intense rainfall.

According to the IMD forecast for Wednesday, the districts of Raigad, Ratnagiri, and Sindhudurg are all likely to experience heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated places. IMD has issued an orange alert for these districts.

The probability of this weather event occurring in each of these districts is marked as very likely, indicating a strong chance of intense rain activity. Residents in these Konkan coastal regions are advised to remain alert and take necessary precautions, as the forecast suggests potentially disruptive weather conditions.
