Unable to repay a loan of Rs 25 lakh, which he had taken for his business, a 37-year-old businessman jumped off his building on Monday.

Saurabh Pitle who owned a workshop of motor parts at Bangur Nagar Malad West has left a 12-page suicide note apologising to the debtors he had taken the loan from.

According to senior police inspector Pramod Tawde, Pitle lived with his wife and a 6-year-old son in Malad. On Monday at around 8 am after taking a stroll inside the premises, he went to the building's terrace and jumped off.

The watchman identified him and immediately alerted the police who reached the spot and rushed Pitle to the Dr. Babasaheb Shatabdi hospital but he was declared dead on arrival.

Police officers said that a 12-page suicide note has been found from his workshop. Pitle has confessed that he was broke as his company was running in losses and that he was ashamed for not being able to repay the loan.

“Pitle made a list of all his debtors and the amount he owed them in his note to apologise to them individually,” said a police officer from Bangur Nagar police station.

“We have registered an ADR and have sent the body for the autopsy to the Bhagwati hospital. Further investigation is on,” said senior inspector Tawde.
