On Saturday, the city saw a marginal dip in new cases

After witnessing a significant rise in the test positivity rate (TPR) for the last two days, Mumbai saw a marginal drop at 1.13 per cent on Saturday. Mumbai’s TPR had dipped below one per cent for the first time in the second wave on July 29.

On Saturday, the city saw a marginal dip in new cases. As per BMC, the city saw 416 new cases. The city also registered four deaths on Saturday. All the four deceased had comorbidities—while two were above the age of 60, the other two deceased were aged between 40 and 60. The doubling rate continued to deteriorate at 1,379 days.
The city’s recovery rate remained constant at 97 per cent as 382 people recovered and were discharged on Saturday. The state’s Covid-19 cases saw a marginal drop on Saturday as cases continued to be registered above 4,000. As per the state health department report, 4,130 cases were reported. The state, however, saw a significant drop in the number of deaths (64).
The state’s case fatality rate remained constant at 2.12 per cent as 2,560 patients recovered and got discharged on Saturday. Currently, the state has 52,025 active cases. The Mumbai Metropolitan Region remained almost constant on Saturday. As per the report, 951 cases were reported in the MMR region, including cases from Mumbai.
