The city recorded a further dip in daily Covid-19 numbers on Monday with 1,240 fresh infections and 48 deaths.  Mumbai has been recording fewer than 1,500 cases since last week, except for Sunday, when it saw a slight increase to 1,544 new infections. The rise in the test positivity rate (TPR) is being attributed to low testing over the past 24 hours. There has been a steady fall in the test positivity rate since May 5. On May 5 the TPR was 10.96, while last week it was below seven. It fell below six on Saturday. The doubling rate has also significantly improved and is 246 days currently.
