Bandra police have filed a case against an unknown person who took a photograph of MP Navneet Rana while she was undergoing an MRI scan. The FIR was filed under sections 448 (trespass) and 336 (endangering life) of the IPC based on the complaint filed by Amit Goud, security supervisor of Lilavati Hospital.

Goud said that Rana was admitted to the hospital on May 6 as she complained of back and neck pain, following which the consulting doctors advised MRI scan. Rana then underwent two MRI scans on May 6 and 7 and her MLA husband Ravi Rana, their security guard and another person in a white shirt were at the radiology department at the time.

The hospital administration alleged that as per the CCTV footage, the man in the white shirt had taken the photos and shared them on social media which went viral. The hospital has also submitted the footage to the police. As per hospital rules and regulations, any electronic product or metal objects are not allowed in the MRI room. The hospital in the complaint further added that there are several boards in the hospital premises stating that taking photos or videos is not allowed.
