Mumbai Police recover suicide note from Sion flat, which states that the deceased's alcohol habits caused him to lose everything, including his family, and hence he decided to end his life

A 45-year-old man was found hanging from the ceiling of his flat in Pratiksha Nagar, Sion, on Wednesday night. The police recovered a suicide note from the flat, which stated that the deceased, Charudutt Kandse’s, alcohol habits caused him to lose everything, including his family, and hence he decided to end his life.
The police suspect that Kandse committed suicide on Saturday as the body was partially decomposed. The residents of Kumkum Cooperative Housing society in Pratiksha Nagar discovered the suicide only after the police broke the lock and entered the flat.
"Kandse had been living alone for the past few months and his wife and three children live in Panvel with his wife’s mother. He used to work earlier, but was home in recent months and mostly kept to himself," said a resident of the building.
Kandse’s neighbours had been getting a foul smell from his flat but when they tried to reach out to him on Wednesday they got no response to their repeated ringing of the door bell and knocking on the door. They then informed the police. Officials from Wadala Truck Terminal police station have registered an accidental death report.
Police Sub-Inspector Deepak Salunkhe from Wadala TT police station said, "The suicide note mentions that he had drinking problems and had lost his peace of mind because of. He had disputes with his family and faced a financial crisis. The body was later sent to Sion hospital for a post-mortem."
