While the development authority is yet to fix a date for the meeting, the commissioner has invited suggestions and objections on the project
Taking a step further towards the execution of the R455.60 crore Worli-Sewri Connector project, the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) has decided to organise a public hearing for Worli residents soon.

MMRDA Commissioner UPS Madan said, “Though we are yet to shortlist any specific date, we’ll be organising a public hearing to seek suggestions and objections from the residents.” In addition, the MMRDA would be studying the impact of the project on the air pollution and traffic situation in the area, and submit its report to the Maharashtra Coastal Zone Management Authority (MCZMA).
The MCZMA officials are of the opinion that the elevated corridor should have more than one entry and exit points. Hence, they had asked the MMRDA to conduct the survey and submit the report. “We will be doing our study on the project’s impact on air pollution in Worli, but changing the road’s alignment is impossible because it is already passing through a congested area,” said an MMRDA official.
The Worli-Sewri Connector has been planned to offer better connectivity between harbour and western suburbs. In future, the elevated road will also act as an important link between Bandra-Worli Sea Link (BWSL) and the proposed Mumbai Trans Harbour Link (MTHL), connecting Sewri with Nhava Sheva.
