Upset with Justice's order against her, woman breaks into his house

A woman who was upset with the Bombay High Court’s decision against her, broke into the house of the Justice on Saturday. She demanded to see the Justice, who was in Bombay High Court then.

The woman told his family members and the watchman that she knew him very well, but her lie was revealed when she said that she had recently met the Justice’s mother who is dead.

The Gamdevi police arrested Anagha Athawale, a resident of Kothrud, Pune. According to the police Anagha (46) was upset after Justice Amjad Ahtesham Sayed had recently given an order against her.

She had filed a suit against the Vice Chancellor of Pune University, in which Justice Sayed gave the order.

On Saturday, around 11.40 am Anagha lied to the watchman and approached the Justice’s house and starting kicking the main door, after she managed to open the glass safety door. Justice Sayed’s sister Shabnam saw that she was very violent and was afraid that she might enter the house.

“Shabnam was afraid as their father, retired Justice Ahtesham Sayed, had just returned from hospital. When Shabnam enquired with Anagha, she told her that she knew everybody in their family and asked her to open the door. Anagha told Shabnam that she even knew her mother and had met her recently. Having realised that she was lying, Shabnam immediately called Justice Amjad and his other brother Ejaz,” said a police officer from Gamdevi Police station. The police immediately reached the Justice’s house at American View, Bhulabhai Desai Road, and apprehended Anagha.

“She told us that she was unhappy with the decision given by the Bombay High Court Justice and that’s why she entered his house.

She was booked for house trespass, housebreaking, and mischief causing monetary damage,” said a police officer from Gamdevi police station.

“We have registered a case and arrested the woman who had entered the house of the Justice as she was upset with the decision,” said Additional Commissioner of Police, South Region, Pratap Dighavkar.

Anagha was produced in the Holiday Court on Sunday and granted bail for Rs 10,000.
