Unruly passenger kicked off AI's Mumbai-Riyadh flight

An Air India flight was delayed by 45 minutes due to an unruly passenger, who had to be kicked off the Riyadh-bound flight for using abusive language and threatening fellow fliers

An Air India flight was delayed by 45 minutes due to an unruly passenger, who had to be kicked off the Riyadh-bound flight for using abusive language and threatening fellow fliers.


Security agencies at Mumbai International Airport's Terminal 2 had to step in to control Mohammad Anwar Ul Haque, who had checked in for his Mumbai-Riyadh flight AI 921.


Haque, along with the other passengers was at the boarding gate when he suddenly started creating a nuisance. The airline staff and all the security agencies at the airport were immediately informed.


An official present at the spot said that Haque was using abusive language and the agencies were unable to get him under control. He appeared to be mentally unstable and had to be was offloaded.

"He could not be controlled after several attempts and needed to be given three injections."

He added, "He even claimed to have two explosives with him and was getting difficult to handle."

Haque was then handed over to the local Sahar police and was sent to Cooper Hospital for further treatment.

The police said that they were conducting an investigation into the incident.
