Now surgery can improve your penis's girth. And no, this isn't a lift from your spam mail folder.
A new surgical trend where the girth of a penis can be increased by an inch is slowly becoming the choice of those desperately seeking to gain confidence in the bedroom. Many of the men are those about to get married.
Penis girth augmentation, says Juhu cosmetic surgeon Manoj Manwani, has only gained some word-of-mouth attention in the last six months. "There were always penile lengthening procedures and fat injections, but this is a new procedure where fat absorption is nearly 20 per cent and therefore the increased girth holds out better and longer," said Manwani.
How it's done
The procedure involves first the removal of skin and fat from another part of the body. An incision is then made in the base of the penis and the derma-fat graft is inserted. "We have successfully performed the surgery for over 10 patients from Mumbai. Many come in asking for widening of more than one inch, but that might compromise blood circulation and sensation. So we prefer to do one inch," he said.
The procedure is not cheap. Patients can spend up to nearly Rs 50,000 on the surgery to increase girth. There are other options where a simple fat injection can work as well. Then there's flab surgery, where fat is cut out from the groin and inserted into the penis. "The first, however, yields poor results and flab surgery may result in blood circulation problems. The derma-fat insert has given us the best results," said Manwani.
Sexperts scoff
Sexperts pooh-pooh the benefits of surgery though. "It's all psychological. The vagina is extremely elastic and will adjust according to the girth of the penis. I've never had to suggest surgery to boost performance," said andrologist Dr Prakash Sarang.
The surgical procedure to augment the penis was developed in the late 1980s by Chinese surgeon Long Daochao (yes, that's his name!)
