After incidents where women's hair was cut off when they were sleeping at night in Uttar Pradesh, it now seems to be the turn of women at Bhiwandi, to lose their sleep over this. Two women whose hair was cut off similarly around midnight on Tuesday have given a written complaint to the Nizampura police station.
The two victims identified as Parya Qureshi, 24, and her sister-in-law Mahek Qureshi, 23, are residents of Kasarali. The Qureshis claim that at first it was Parya whose hair was chopped. "At around 1 am I felt that someone was pulling my hair. When I woke up, I saw that it had already been cut off. I screamed and woke up others in the family. Everyone got scared. After an hour the same happened to Mahek. Now we are sleepless at nights," said Parya.

The news spread across Bhiwandi, as such incidents are increasing in Uttar Pradesh, and families are scared with people staying awake the whole night.
On Tuesday morning the duo approached the Nizampura police station to file a complaint. "The police, instead of lodging a complaint, started making fun of us. We had also taken the hair with us as proof, but they were not ready to accept it. Then they took our written statement and didn't register any case and asked us to leave," added Parya.
Naresh Megharajani, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Bhiwandi said, "We have taken a written complaint from the duo. No investigation is on, as we suspect it to be a false case."
