The staffers staged a protest against the attack on Raghunath Rathod, an Assistant Civil Surgeon whose face was blackened yesterday by members of a mob.
They shouted slogans and squatted outside the hospital.
A 75-year-old woman, Lingamma, was admitted to the hospital on Monday after she was found lying in a pool of blood in Rabodi area.
According to locals, there was an inordinate delay of more than six hours in attending to the woman, which resulted in her death in the wee hours of Tuesday.
Following this, a mob of around 50, led by local leaders said to be from NCP, barged into the Goverment-run medical facility and blackened the face of Rathod. Police arrested a dozen NCP activists, including Corporator Suhas Desai.
