Arif Naseem Khan, minister of state for home and food drug administration, has ordered the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) commissioner to identify and test products that promise cure for diseases like cancer, tuberculosis and heart ailments within 15 days.
Strict action

He has promised action against manufacturers of these products under the Control of Dangerous Products Act.

"We will be testing all medicines that contain dangerous components and are promoted to the public.

If we find a problem with them, they will be seized and the manufacturer will have to pay a heavy price," said Khan.
Ads promising cure for several diseases are seen on trains and buses.
In trouble
After receiving several complaints about Munir Khan, a self-proclaimed scientist who promises cure for cancer, paralysis and TB, the FDA has seized some the drugs he prescribes.
