CBI files answer in Peter Mukerjea’s bail application; says Indrani said Peter knew of murder once it was committed
The CBI on Saturday filed a reply against the bail application of Peter Mukherjea, accused in the Sheena Bora murder case. The argument is likely to be heard on January 30. Peter Mukherjea's lawyer Kushal Mor had filed a bail application on January 4, stating that the investigations thus far had not lent any clarity on Peter's motive in the crime. He also said that it had not been established that he was involved in the crime.

The CBI, in its reply, has stated that Indrani revealed to the investigating agency that Peter was aware of the murder after the incident had occurred. Various account books and documents seized from Peter are under scrutiny, they said. The reply states that Peter was concealing Sheena’s death from his son Rahul, and hence was part of the conspiracy.
Peter’s bail application will be argued on January 30, as will the CBI's reply regarding the bail application of Indrani's former husband and co-accused Sanjeev Khanna. The judicial custody of Indrani, Khanna and Rai had been earlier extended to January 30.
