To make matters worse, parents who refused to pay the hiked fees have been threatened that their children will not be allowed to attend school from the next academic year.
When midday contacted school authorities they said, "The increase in fee from senior KG to grade I (approximately Rs 67,850 to Rs 114,850) has been due to the number of school hours doubling, increased and specialized co-curricular activities, highly trained faculty for primary and secondary years and over all increase in school expenses," said a spokesperson.
She added that all parents were always aware of the early bird offer of a reduced fee that was extended to the first ever pioneering batch of any JBCN school i.e. the students admitted to the school in academic year 2010-11.
Parents, however, are still not happy with the school’s attitude towards children and are planning to take this to higher authorities.
