The PWD has found that the shoddy work done by the contractor appointed by MSRDC is the reason for the bad condition of the road.
PWD has written a letter to MSRDC pointing the shoddy job on part of the contractor and also said that due to these uneven paver blocks there are more chances of accidents and as the work is in Defect Liability Period, the MSRDC should immediately instruct the contractor to repair it at the earliest so that the motorists won’t face problems during the monsoon season.
At present the motorists using the Sion-Panvel Highway have to face many problems as the paver block road is very uneven, due to which bikes skid many a times.
The MSRDC has now decided to take help from IIT-Bombay to tackle this problem.
Speaking to mid-day, a senior MSRDC official said, "We have received the letter that was sent to us by PWD about repairing the uneven paver block patch near Priyadarshini Circle. We have decided to take help from IIT-Bombay on what kind of technique should be used to repair the road."
