According to the Dongri police, the accused Parsee Osewale Okoffo took his victim to Mantralaya in 2009 and told her that they had got married after which he raped her. "Okoffo met his victim in a church first in 2009, after which they started dating. When they both decided to get married. Okoffo took the victim on April 27, 2009 to Mantralaya on the third floor and asked her to sign some papers and later told her that they had got married now," said a police officer from Dongri police station. "Following that, he had had intercourse with her and took some obscene pictures of her as well," added the officer.
However, when people around the victim told her that one could not get married in Mantralaya, she realised something was amiss and asked him for their marriage certificate. When he was unable to reproduce the document, she understood that Okoffo had cheated her," said the officer.
The victim told the police that later he started blackmailing her with some of her pictures and threatened to tell everyone that she was gang raped if she did not meet his demands.
"Frustrated with the harassment, the victim finally lodged a complaint with us three-four days back. We nabbed the accused on Saturday," said the investigating officer.
During investigations, cops revealed that Okoffo had lied to the victim that his father was an industrialist in the plastics business and he was currently pursuing a MBA. Cops added that they suspected that Okoffo had also used the marriage card to lure other women and extorted them.
