The meeting involved a discussion on monsoon preparedness, one of Mehta's top priorities, which he had listed on his very first day of office.
"Thackeray asked the BMC to take stock of the number of medicines available for monsoon-related diseases, especially dengue and malaria. He also asked them to be vigilant about swine flu," said Sena corporator Trushna Vishwasrao who was present at the meeting.
Besides, Thackeray also assessed the status of road works in the city, where he was assured by the commissioner that most roads will be completed by the end of May. He was also apprised of the new storm water drainage pipeline which was connected at Hindmata recently to prevent 60 per cent water logging in the area.
"Our Lovegrove pumping station has been commissioned and Britannia pumping station will also be ready by the end of this month. It will give a huge relief to Mumbaikars," Vishwasrao said.
Thackeray even instructed corporators and the Mayor to review the status of ongoing de-silting of nullahs and hence, the BMC is going to start working to that end.
