Police issued notice to airports and border authorities so that six accused in Green Heritage construction scam don't leave the country; they fled after failing to get anticipatory bail
This is perhaps the first time in the history of real estate scams that the police have issued a look out notice for builders in a case of unauthorised construction. In the flaring controversy surrounding the illegal construction in Green Heritage building ufffd a high-rise in Navi Mumbai touted as Jewel of Kharghar ufffd cops have issued the notice for the six partners of Abhishek Builders and Developers. Police have alerted all airports and border checkpoints to prevent the accused from fleeing the country.

According to the notice issued on March 30 (copy available with MiD DAY), the accused, identified as Vijay Ravji Gajara, Dinesh Keshavji Patel, Gangaji Kalyanji Bhanushali, Karman Raghu Patel, Sohel Navin Gala and Sunil Keshavji Gala, are residents of Navi Mumbai and Thane. 
"We have issued a look out notice against the accused. It has been sent to all airports in the country. The accused are absconding and we are searching for them," confirmed Dilip Mane, assistant commissioner of police.u00a0 On March 30, the accused had approached the Raigad Sessions Court for anticipatory bail but additional sessions judge Dr Yashwant G Chaware rejected their plea (copy with MiD DAY) and they have since been on the run.
Wanted for violation
MiD DAY has reported extensively on the breach of norms during the construction of the 21-storey tower on plot no 79 and 80 in Kharghar. Mostly, VVIPs have bought flats here. The scam was brought to the fore after real estate agent Pramod Mittal filed a petition in the Bombay High Court. Last year in December, the court directed the Kharghar police to lodge an FIR against the builder, MSEB, CIDCO officials and DCP (Crime) Dattatray Shinde under several Sections of the IPC.
The CIDCO officials, in turn, also registered an FIR against the builder. There was talk of demolishing the structure in February but the builders then got a stay order.u00a0 On June 15, 2006, CIDCO granted permission to construct 8,588.200 sq m (for residential built-up area) and 1,506.655 sq m (for commercial built-up area).
Accordingly, 97 residential flats, 20 commercial flats and two office units could be built on the land. But the accused allegedly stole additional FSI, and went on to construct 150 flats, 38 commercial flats and four office units. The total construction spans 1,575.618 sq m. It is alleged that the accused have earned crores illegally, forging documents in collusion with CIDCO officers.u00a0
