Bombay High Court has given the go ahead allowing Mumbai citizens to build human pyramids above 20-feet for the upcoming Dahi Handi celebrations in the city.

The practice which was banned since 2014, various Mumbai organisers as well as participants aim to raise the bar targetting dahi handis at a height of 32-42 feet which would consist of around six to seven levels.

Earlier, the ban had restricted the dahi handi levels to that of four.

As reported by Asian Age, MLA Prakash Surve who helms the celebrations in Borivli East said, 'After receiving the High Court nod, we are preparing to set up the dahi handi above 20 feet. So far 25 mandals are ready to construct 8 level pyramids. We will follow all the safety measures which was made compulsory by the government.'

A participant at the Khotwadi Pathak told the newspaper, 'We have been practicing for the last two months, but due to earlier restrictions, we have practiced for only six levels, but we will now try to go up to eight levels. Till 2014, small children used to break the handi from our side, but this year, a 14-year-old boy will break the handi'.
