The 30-year-old went to Shivaji Nagar police to confess to killing his best friend; cops sent him to Dindoshi police, who directed him to Kurar Village police, who finally arrested him
A 30-year-old wanting to confess to a murder should have looked up the jurisdiction of the scene of his alleged crime, for cops sent him off from one police station to another until he was in the right place to surrender.

No rest for wicked?
Officials said that on Wednesday morning, the accused, identified as Magdul Sardar Ali (30), first approached the Shivaji Nagar police and told the on-duty officer to arrest him for killing his best friend in Malad (East) and dumping his body in a drain.
But instead of putting him behind the bars, the cops sent him to surrender at Dindoshi police station, citing that the spot of crime fell in the latter’s jurisdiction.

Incidentally, on the way to Dindoshi, he was escorted by no more than two constables. The Dindoshi cops, however, also booted him away, sending him off to Kurar Village police station, where he was, at long last, taken into custody.
Sardar Ali is a resident of Shivaji Nagar, Govandi, and works as a tailor. He allegedly told the police that he had killed his best friend, Sadik Ali (29), in August.
‘Don’t believe him’
Cops said they doubt if there is any truth to Sardar Ali’s claim. Senior Police Inspector Jaychandra Kathe of Kurar police station said, “The accused alleged that he had killed his friend and dumped his body in a nullah in Kurar Village, Malad (East), but we don’t have any record of a body being found in August.
We have arrested the accused based on his confession and assembled a team to search for his friend’s body, but haven’t found anything. We are not sure if the accused is telling us the truth or giving a false statement.”
Kathe added, “The accused first surrendered to Shivaji Nagar police and they sent him in our custody. We are investigating the matter.”
