Sion-based Pratiksha Nagar’s corporator Pranita Waghdare (ward number 165) house was broken into and valuables worth Rs 1.9 lakhs were found missing.
Ironically, due to the increase in house-breaking incidents in the area, the same corporator had called for a meeting in which the Deputy Commissioner of Police (zone 4), Assistant Commissioner of Police (Wadala division) and the Wadala Truck Terminal senior police inspector were invited on June 25, but only the senior police inspector Suhas Garud ended up attending the meeting.
Since the commencement of the meeting, the Wadala TT police have increased their patrolling duty. The corporator has also been maintaining a dairy in which the patrolling officer has to sign, to ensure that the patrolling duties are being duly carried.
When sunday mid-day tried contacting Waghdare, her husband Prakash said, “Cases of house breaking have increased in the last two years, because of which we had called everyone.”
